BENZON FOUNDATION
THE BENZON SYMPOSIA

The Benzon Symposia are international conferences on front line research in medical, pharmaceutical and related sciences funded by the Alfred Benzon Foundation. The purpose of the symposia is to bring together leading experts within a given field to present and discuss their research.

During the years 1968-1998 the Foundation arranged 45 international symposia as listed below. They all took place in Copenhagen, and Munksgaard International Publishers Ltd published proceedings, including the discussions.

From 1999 the format of the symposia was changed. Today, a Benzon Symposium features 20-25 state of the art presentations by invited scientists, shorter oral presentations selected by the organizing committee, and poster presentations selected by this committee from abstracts submitted by the participants.

All Benzon Symposia are planned and organized by one or more members of the board of trustee of the Foundation in collaboration with scientists specialized in the topics of the specific symposia. The symposia are held in Copenhagen. The maximum number of participants is 150 including invited speakers.

There will be no Benzon Symposium in 2011, but a Benzon Symposium is being planned for 2012.

The topic and organizing committee for Benzon Symposium No. 59 (2013) will be determined in 2011. Further materials including application forms (all in Danish) can be found elsewhere on our web site.

Applications may be submitted before May 2, 2011 to
